When is the best time of year to have landscaping work carried out? |
There's no specific timetable when it comes to landscaping, however the rule of thumb for hard landscaping projects is the earlier in the year the better. Spring is ideal as the project can be finished to enjoy for summer, and in summer itself, the weather usually allows for long dry periods allowing most projects to be completed. Autumn is perhaps the best time to plant hedging trees and flowering bulbs. If you think you've left it too late in the year to have your garden landscaped don't worry - winter gardens allow a great period of time for the plants to bed themselves in ready for spring and we have teams that can work all year round. |
How much will landscaping cost me? |
Clearly, until our designers see your garden and have come up with a scheme it will be difficult to give you an idea of cost. At Landscapes by Multi-trade we pride ourselves on attention to detail and quality at every stage and we position ourselves towards the higher end of the market. |
Do you charge for design? |
Our designers are some of the best in their field and attract premium prices, however by working with Multi-trade you get access to high end designers without having to pay their full fee. We make a small charge for their initial consultation which is refunded against the price of a full design should you wish to go ahead. |
We don't really have a clue what we want, will you help us decide what will look best in our garden? |
Yes, we can offer as much input as you wish. We'll firstly ask for your broad tastes as well as taking into account the style of your house to suggest a design that's suitable for you. We're confident that after your initial consultation you'll have a really good idea about what's going to work for you. |
What's the process that we go through from design to build? |
Firstly, call our team on 0203 743 8976 to discuss your requirements. We'll then arrange for one of our landscape desingers to visit you for an initial cosultation for which there is a small fee. Your designer will discuss your requirements with you and leave you with a few sketches to give you a broad overview of what to expect. If you're happy that you're on the right track, you can commission your designer to complete a full design which will include detailed drawings, planting suggestions, materials suggestions and measurements. Your designer will visit you to present and explain the design and if you'd like us to go ahead and quote you for this work, our designer will work with our landscape team and our customer account managers to build you a fully specified quote. If you accept our quote we'll contact you to let you kinow what the build schedule will be. |
What happens if I can't afford to have the garden built all at once? |
No problem - your designer can either suggest alternatives or split the design into sections that can be completed as and when funds allow. |
I'm having a consevatory or outside building made - when should I let you know this? |
For the best result, you should let your designer know as early as possible so that the building can be incoporated into the design. The last thing you want to to is pull up your new garden to try and accomoadte a new structure! |
How long does the construction process last? |
The time taken to complete the work varies upon the scale and size of the project, but you should look at between two and four weeks. Your quote will give you a more accurate estimate of how long it's expected to take. |

Are you expensive? |
We don't think so, no! Multi-Trade's pricing model is open and honest and most of our charges are displayed on this website. We believe that we offer excellent quality service at reasonable prices. Some companies offer you a cheap or free callout, but charge you heavily for their hourly rate or add a hefty supplement onto parts. Similarly, some companies will offer you an expensive service because their name allows them to charge a premium. Multi-trade offer free quotations for most work and our staff will always be up front about how much things are likely to cost you. |
